Internet advertising has overtaken television advertising in Great Britain*. In the first half of the year, TV advertising fell 16 percent and Internet advertising rose nearly five percent. In Great Britain, 23 % of all advertising was Internet advertising and more than 2 billion euro were used in it. During this period the entire advertising market declined about 17 percent.
Studies show that Internet has become more popular than TV as an advertising medium also in Denmark. In the United States, 14 % of advertising is online advertising and 40 % is television advertising. In Finland, in 2008 the share of television advertising was about 20 % and the share of online advertising was 10 %.
