Avalon designed a regional search engine marketing campaign for a new beauty parlour from Oulu.
Mira Kuuva, the entrepreneur in Omdat beauty parlour, says that the search engine marketing has resulted in greater interest and a greater number of booked appointments. Especially the younger, under thirty years old, customers have been activated by the search engine marketing.
When designed and implemented properly, regional search engine marketing is an efficient way to reach the right target group. In search engine marketing, users see the company’s adverts only when they make searches using the specific key words set to the adverts. The targeted region can be defined to cover specific cities and their surroundings or larger areas. And unlike in traditional media, views are free in search engine marketing.
Search engine marketing is also a new option for the traditional directories and local print advertising. For example, in Oulu an advert of the size of a matchbox costs around 60–120 €. With the same amount used in search engine marketing, a company can get 300–600 new visitors to take a closet look at the company’s services. Benefitting from this increased amount of visitors in entirely up to the website’s capability to speak and guide people.
Today all companies can expect their customers to use the Internet. In 27. April 2009, Statistics Finland published a research, which stated that 83 % of 16–74 year-old Finns had used the Internet in the past three months. And during that time, 80 % had used the Internet almost daily.
